Shopping with your kids? It makes me an evil witch!

Ah online, the invention of the century. For years I grumbled about grocery shopping. I detest it. And not just me, my kids too! You know them, those stories of children who threaten to lie down in the aisle of the Appie  because they don't get their way. Yep, happened here. But what I actually find much more annoying is the continuous haggling of who is allowed to scan (they are so modern with us in the south). The whole 'drive' through the supermarket - and yes, if all goes well, the youngest still has to walk in one of those retarded uncontrollable car shopping carts that you will run into anyone who comes even within half a meter of the shins - they argue. No, I'm over. No more hassle, but order via ah online.

WOW, now I'm the one again. But Màààààm, he's just scanned two, the other screams. I want too! And now I can have two! Because imagine that one of the two is allowed a little more than the other. 'Sigh † I get tired of it and I look forward to it every time. With the promise that they can pick out some goodies if they keep a low profile, I try to maneuver my way to the cash register as quickly as possible with that miserable car. Despite this recurring stress, it took months before I finally took the plunge!

Ah online, I'm a fan

For months I have been dreaming of easy shopping in a way that suits me. I don't know exactly what has been holding me back all these months. It probably lies in the middle of the fear of best-before dates passing too quickly and no fresh vegetables in my digital shopping cart. But I got over this fear and placed the first online order at Albert Heijn  ! And it's the first of many, I can tell you that, because ah online is now among my favorites. Without feeling guilty!

Advantages of online grocery shopping

What a joy, ah online. Nice and quiet from my office, behind the laptop. It takes some getting used to, of course. I notice that I now have to think a little better about what I want to eat, for example. Normally I walk past the vegetables and then think about what we are going to eat on the spot. Now it is more convenient if you already have a bit of an idea, so that you can immediately search everything for that dish on ah online. Not sure what to eat yet? No worries. The 'recipes' tab provides plenty of inspiration!

But I really like the peace and quiet during online shopping. I poke back and forth on the well-arranged website. Handy, everything is categorized per department (you don't have to walk back to a place the 2nd or 3rd time because you forgot something; otherwise I have to). In addition, an excellent search function that takes you directly to your favorite product. For example, we are now completely into Alpro Yoghurt on a soy basis. The first time in the supermarket, I was looking for a break with whining children around me. Now I search for Alpro and yes, I found it!

Just to the Appie

The Appie has regained its old meaning for me from before I had children. I'm still 'ff' to the Appie, we said to each other in the past when one of us went to run an errand. That feeling is back. I have saved myself a trip in the car to the supermarket, the children are just sitting here at home playing and I can go straight back to work. Everyone is happy.

I was even happier when the groceries were delivered neatly in the agreed time. To be honest… it feels a bit like getting a Christmas package and opening it 😉 . Only then will there be products that you can really use and that will not disappear into your pantry for yearsuntil you see that the best-before date has already passed a few years ago.

As far as I'm concerned, ah online shopping is highly recommended. Especially for busy mothers with children who don't feel like dragging their children through the supermarket in addition to their work. Or without children navigating between all those other shopping people with your shopping cart on a Saturday morning, because I always find that such a shabby sight. Do you finally have weekend…. Are you busy all Saturday to get your house ready and get your groceries for a week. And let's face it… the delivery costs are nothing compared to the extra amount of tasty things you normally throw in your cart because you walk by, but that you really don't need at all. Another remedy for all that candy too!

No, no more nightmares for me and no sloshing armpits in line at the supermarket. From now on I will just go shopping smartly and easily with a delicious cappuccino by my side! Now you!
