Air Transat, a company for families

Before talking to you in detail about my wonderful trip to Canada (in the province of New Brunswick), I wanted to quickly zoom in on the airline Air Transat , tested on occasion and which seems to me to be an excellent compromise for a family trip to Canada from France (and I note the country on purpose, because you will see, there are departures from several provincial towns!)

You may still be hesitating for this summer or planning for the All Saints holidays and if, like many, you weren't sure what to think of a so-called low cost company to go on a family trip, here is some practical and concrete information.

Air Transat, a company for families

First of all Air Transat is actually a Canadian scheduled airline with direct flights to Canada from 8 cities (Paris, Nantes, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nice, Marseille, Lyon and Basel-Mulhouse)

Two classes of travel:economy class and club class for those with more budgets, located at the front of the aircraft.
In Air Transat economy class, you have the option of choosing the Option Plus (service that I therefore tested at the end of June) which offers the following privileges:priority check-in, boarding and baggage delivery, a snack/aperitif offered before the meal service, headphones and a travel kit offered (with a blanket, neck airbag and blindfold), seat selection offered (which allows you to choose the seats where there is more legroom – at emergency exits for example), priority at security checks at Canadian airports and an additional piece of luggage (which therefore makes 2 included )

For families everything is planned:reserved check-in counter and priority boarding, games distributed on board – and age-appropriate! Ah, and your luggage has priority for delivery (we like it).
In addition, by purchasing your tickets, you can register for free your children aged 2 to 11 at the KIDS CLUB. Thus:

  • The child receives his membership kit by post:a welcome letter, his name membership card with neck strap, two luggage tags, postcards, coupons to exchange on board for snacks (sweets or chocolate bars)
  • The child, depending on the number of days between his registration and his trip, will receive a few e-mails from Air Transat (explaining the steps he will encounter at the airport, what he will be able to see in Canada:fauna, flora, etc.) as well as a flight certificate on his return!
  • He will receive surprises on board to have fun in flight
  • Finally, he will be automatically entered in a draw to win a trip for 4 to Canada (there are 2 draws per year)

I will end with a brief word on values of this airline that I knew until now - already positively - only for its annual action with the association Les Petits Princes:each beginning of December, all the employees of the company donate a day of their working time to take around fifty sick children (and their families) by plane, meeting Santa Claus during a flight lasting just over an hour above Roissy. Crazy atmosphere and memories guaranteed. Added to this is a real environmental and corporate responsibility policy, so there are passionate people behind Air Transat and that means a lot to me.

If you have any questions, I will contact the Air Transat team, which allowed me to make this fabulous trip that I will soon tell you about on the blog.
